While I was absolutely satisfied with Tadalafil, the idea of trying herbal pills was always spinning in my head. You can’t help it with all these ads about natural alternatives to ED pills glaring all over the Internet. My experiment continued for about 2 months and now I can certainly say that I still prefer tadalafil. The herbal pills did work as the manufacture promised and I noticed improvement, so if you wonder what my choice was based on read the below:
Why I Prefer Tadalafil
- Tadalafil starts to work almost as soon as you take it and the effect last up to 36 hours (at least in my case). With herbal pills you can’t expect that, you’ll have to wait for or weeks and the effect will come gradually. I can’t wait that long and give up my love life.
- The cost of herbal pills per month is considerably higher than of tadalafil (I mean generic versions, not brand Cialis of course). You take herbal pills every day, each pills costs $1-2 at best. Tadalafil costs me $1 per pill and I take it 2 days a week, and get the full effect (1 pill works for 1.5 days).
-
I simply forget to take herbal pills every day
- I had no side effects with tadalafil and get perfect result, so why compromise?
Since I started to do special exercises I made a step forward from no erections to weak erections, which is a real achievement. And if I’m obviously on my way to recovery, why not get a little help from a such a powerful drug as tadalafil. That won’t do any damage to my health.

Most answers you will find on the Internet are “Yes, certainly”. I would rather say that depends on your relationship.
If your relationship is purely sexual relationship and does not involve really strong feelings and affection and you still want to enjoy sex with that person, don’t discuss. Your self-confidence won’t suffer that much if you avoid that embarrassing conversation with a person not really closes to you. Being a failure in this aspect of life in the eyes of someone you don’t trust much can be very painful.
You can simply take tadalafil or use other effective ED remedies to continue the pleasure for both of you and keep your problem to yourself. Successful performance is what really matters in this case, not the methods you use to succeed. You will have to find solution to your problem on your own but
If your partner is someone you have strong relationship with and you love each other – yes, discuss this. Telling that you have to take tadalafil or other meds is ok, too. Being aware about the problem will not affect feelings or break a really strong relationship. Discussing and explaining what happens will help your partner avoid the distressing experience of suspecting that you don’t love her any longer, don’t find attractive etc. Erectile dysfunction will not come without any reason and that kind of talk may help reveal and remove the cause. And if your partner will not wish to hold on to that relationship any longer because of your problem…Are you sure it’s not better to terminate is as early as you can and start a new one? However, if your unhealthy lifestyle is the obvious cause of erectile dysfunction and you won’t stir a finger to change it, don’t blame her for lack of understanding.

Of course, choosing an ED remedy is very individual and differs from man to man. The choice depends on possible side effects, expectations and other things. I tried other popular ED medications, such as sildenafil citrate (brand name Viarga) or vardenafil (brand name Levitra) and they all produced the desired effect. My final choice was Tadalafil for a number of reasons, taking into account that I didn’t develop any side effects with all the meds:
- Tadalafil treats ED in the same way as sildenafil citrate. I prefer tadalafil because of its long-lasting effect – 12 hours or even more. That provides a wonderful opportunity to have a spontaneous sex, which is really important for any men with erectile dysfunction. For me, the necessity to take ED tablets strictly 1 hour before the intercourse is a sad reminder which can redouble the physiological problem. Manufacturers say the effect from tadalafil is not decreased by food, I didn’t notice any decrease either.
- Tadalafil can be used to treat other conditions and diseases, besides erectile dysfunction. It relaxes muscles and allows blood to flow to various areas of the body. In my case, this extra effect is beneficial.
- Cost. I prefer generic versions of medications. I don’t like to overpay just for the brand name.

Tadalafil is tolerated well by most men. Tadalafil side effects (if any) are minor in most cases and do not require special treatment. Only about 3% of patients develop tadalafil side effects or stop using tadalafil because of side effects.
Discuss the risks of developing side effects with your doctor! The list of tadalafil side effects below may be incomplete, though I tried to include as much information as I can.
Most common tadalafil side effects:
- Headache
- stuffy nose
- Facial flushing
- dyspepsia
- Back or Muscle pain
- Pain in the legs or arms
Less common tadalafil side effects (They occur in less that 2 per cent of men. However, if it difficult to tell for sure if these side effects were triggered by tadalafil. If any of the following conditions occur after taking tadalafil, you should inform your doctor immediately):
- Insomnia
- dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Blurred or altred vision (a blue veil on vision area)
- Rash
- Angina
- Migraines
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- worsening in or loss of hearing
- prolonged erection lasting over 4 hours (especially painful one)
Tadalafil side effects listed below are extremely rare and there is no proof that they are induced by tadalafil because they all occurred in people with cardiovascular problems during or after the intercourse. Sexual activity puts extra strain on your heart and, as any physical activity, can be dangerous of even fatal for some cardiovascular patients:
- Chest pain
- Tachycardia
- Stroke
- Heart attack
